It’s been one of those days……
A was super excited to share that a kid in her class was sent home with chicken pox
G may have come home with a note about using forks to sword fight in the cafeteria
An adult may have sucked her thumb in a professional meeting I attended
sometimes ya just have to laugh……

the snow day was a perfect excuse to get started on Ava’s room update
(I love that she has a chandy and a planet mobile)
I wish I had taken a before shot- it was builder grade tan walls
and she had the quilt with yellow and pink flowers I bought her when she was 18 months
Ava has been letting me know that she is eight and over anything “babyish”
my days of monogrammed hairbows are numbered…..sigh
my love is a bit of a pack rat- two bags to donate and a load of “baby” books for McKays
I love that she is articulate and creative….. and a bit hard-headed
It’s amazing watching her grow into her own as a young lady
I adore this girl!

the funky yellow lamps are a yard sale find I snatched from my mom
my friend Becky monogrammed these pillows
(formerly known as place mats from World Market)

today we were home from school due to ice
I was beyond grateful….
we made valentines, round two
(kids were into it for all of 3 minutes)
then we made pizza
in my head, it was creative and cozy
making and breaking bread together as a family
in reality, there was sticky dough, flour everywhere, and tears
because the dough would not be a star-shaped no matter how hard we tried….
ah, well- naps for everyone!

I’m re-reading Ann Voskamp’s book 1000 gifts
I can’t recommend it enough,
I’m re-reading it because I’m just not there yet
in an effort to be mindful of all God’s graces,
I’m going to be counting gifts this year
