we made camp in the Smokie Mountains

my Ava girl is almost 8
we’re celebrating with an Almost Slumber Party
8 little “night owls” will party in pjs
and blissfully return to their own homes
two owl crafts, owl bookmarks, and owl treat bags
I’m letting Chick-Fil-A do the cooking and
fabulous Jennifer M. is making owl cupcakes
now it’s time to clean our home so our sweet girls can trash it!

we headed to Sycamore Springs this weekend
the kids played chase while the guys harvested cane for molasses
each stalk had to be stripped of leaves and cut down by hand
the little guys helped in between fighting crime and being pirates

while marveling at the October sky

Graham you are the best clone trooper, horsey stick firing ninja guy I know.
This past Friday, you were sure to rid my room of all bad chicken raptors and robots because you are the ‘rotector of the family.
Later, you told your father when he asked about cute girls in your class, “well to me, mommy is the most beautiful girl in the whole world”
I want to remember this when you’re sixteen and busted at curfew.
I love you so!

today was the meet the teacher time at FPS
Ava was thrilled with “Hoot” and the “OWL” bet it’s a great year treat bag!
This fab lady even came up with an extra treat bag for little brother- over the top thoughtfulness!
Graham was blown away with “my school”
He said, “I love it, love it. They have legos and science and dinosaur books!”
He pretended to show us his classroom by setting up centers in his bedroom.
Once again I am filled with thankfulness that these kind, creative, gifted, and bright teachers
will be shaping my children’s hearts and minds!
