Fish or Lure?

fish or lure? family joke inspired by a precocious two-year old

one of these silver platters was a family heirloom, one was $2 at Good Will

neither were living up to their potential, soooo

homemade silver tarnish remover with no scrubbing- Thank you Pinterest!

After:  a bit of happy shiny for my wall

ginger me snaps

Sunday found me with a few blissful hours home alone

my grandmother’s gingersnap recipe is a force to be reckoned with-

it’s amazing that a cookie can bring back such flood of sweet memories

I cranked the Pandora Christmas music, baked, and crafted around

my mantle was in dire need of blue mason jar snow globes

fake snow (epsom salt) makes my heart flutter

trashy treasure

we were all home together this past Tuesday

home days almost always include lazy mornings and art

G’s fabulous teacher assigned a fun disguise a turkey project

(Tom became a Triceratops)

I saw this fab piece of long brown paper in the recycling bin at school

hey, hey take it away

this photo just doesn’t convey how nasty this sink was

30 years of gunk that would not yield to bleach or elbow grease

the bottom was poofy like only water sogged laminate can be

after, so much better

not earth shattering, I know, but oh so gratifying to be rid of puffy laminate

slowly, slowly this home is becoming less 80s fantabulous

’round here

around here, things have been a little wild

sweet Ava woke up screaming and unable to move her neck or arms

quick little trip to ER, some x-rays and Valium, and we know it’s just a badly pulled muscle

Hello, Monday!

so after we’re back home

I do the logical thing-

break out the spray paint, painters tape, and foam pumpkins

the cheveron look didn’t quite work out and the paint turned out to be a glossy finish-

but all in all, the world seemed a bit better
